No Furby App for Kindle Fire (Updated)

Bad news for Kindle Fire owners.  After emailing Hasbro directly to inquire when the Furby app may become available, I received my answer ” There are no current plans to add the Furby App to the Kindle Fire”.   Does that mean there will never be a Kindle Fire app? Not necessarily.  If enough Kindle users show interest, anything is possible.  But at the moment however, its a no go.  Its not a total loss though,  Furbies work fine without an app or connected device, the app just adds a few extra ‘bells and whistles’ such as feeding graphic images of food to Furby, and a Furbish to English translator.

You want the Furby App for Kindle Fire?  Let Hasbro know and post your comments below!

      False advertising!”

Unfortunately, the Furby app is only available for iOS and android devices. Hasbro has only advertised it for those two platforms. I’m sorry! Who knows what the future may bring!

Well if you have a Google account you can download it in the Google play, but how do you add it to your kindle? And this isn’t the first, time kindle had a problem like this candy crush was one and on the old kindle fires you had to unlock the camera why so much work for so much money spent? I got the curvy for the app and I can’t even use it with my daughter

My daughter was aware of the Furby app before she was able to purchase her Furby (which she waited very patiently for). Therefor she was quite excited to dedicate the remainder of her time playing with her Furby and experiencing all that she had witnessed with her friend’s Furby. She was quite disappointed when we realized that the Furby app could not be installed on her Kindle Fire. She loves the Furby — but you can tell that she knows she is missing out on something.

“Its not a total loss though, Furbies work fine without an app or connected device, the app just adds a few extra ‘bells and whistles’ such as feeding graphic images of food to Furby, and a Furbish to English translator.”

To basically say, ‘well your Furby still works without it’ , is like saying ‘well you can wear your swimsuit in the bathtub, it still works without going to the pool’.

We live in a very technological world. When toy companies create applications designed to enhance the playtime of a toy, those applications need to be supported on all major technological brands.

So, I guess what I am saying is — this family of Kindle customers are showing strong interest for the Furby app. on the Kindle and all major smart tablet brands.

    Thank you.

Hi Tabitha, you are of course absolutely right. I just hoped to alleviate some of the sting from the bad news (about no Kindle Furby App). Hasbro commented that they have no current plans to create the Furby app for Kindle, but as I said before people like you who are willing to voice their desire for the Kindle app could possibly make it happen. I’ll add a Voting poll in this article so that interested people can show their support for a Kindle Fire Furby App.

Thank you! I think a voting poll would be awesome!

We should all speak up because why cant the kindlefire have the app? Its not right many people are upset. The furby still works without the app but it is still something that lets us understand furby.

I know. It’s aggravating. I hope Hasbro wakes up and supports other devices such as Kindle Fire soon. Make sure and vote that you want the app for Kindle in our “Vote” section (or here in this article.) If you have a different device you would like to have App support for, post it here so we can make it known!

Hi Kat, we all feel your pain on this topic. I appreciate that you are voicing your concern, if more people do maybe it will make a difference with Hasbro. Keep in mind that myself and “FurbyManual.com” are not owned by Hasbro, were just a fan site for Furby enthusiasts to get together.

I am sorry by my bad English. I am from Costa Rica, and my daugther going to have a furby in this christmas. She has a kindle fire. I was able to install the Kindle app in her tablet with a hack, and it runs very well. I don´t know if the Furby toy may interact with Kindle, but I could install it on the Kindle. You must have a rooted android phone, download the app, transfer it to your computer and then save it to the Kindle. You can also download the app by searching Google and then transfer it to the tablet

Hi Diana, that’s great news! Would you mind writing instructions on how to do this? If you do, I’ll post an article for everyone who owns Kindle Fire. It will help a lot of people! 🙂

Just purchased the Furby Boom for my daughters as a Christmas gift. They are so excited, however I am sad that I will have to tell them both that their kindle fires will not work with their newfound friend. The fact that I purchased 2 Furbies was difficult enough more or so because of the prices due to it being a hot item this fall, makes me regret it because using the app was the sole purpose for why they asked for them. Uugghh..can anyone say frustrated. I made sure to get everything on their Christmas list for my honor roll little girls and only for it to be halfway ruined by having to explain that they will not be able to play with it how they imagined. So sure Hasbro..I’ll pay a mere $500 to purchase 2 new android devices..who cares about the $115 I just spent on the Furbies. #upsetparent

Please admin go to the website and see the many irate reviews from customer who were told it was compatible and it’s not. Please advise further! Thanks

You are right, Hasbro claims that the Kindle Fire HDx will support the FurbyBoom app, but many customers who have Kindle HDx say the app will not work. I dont own a Kindle (I have Ipad) so I was not aware of this problem. I am contacting Hasbro about this and will let all of you know what I find out.

It’s very upsetting as I finally decided to purchase the kindle fire hd over any other tablet. I don’t see why they don’t sort it out. It’s clearly very popular and wanted. Why the old kindle and not the new one? It don’t make sense. Technology is meant to develop not go backwards!! And also very annoyed as everywhere clearly advertised it works on the tablet!

Having done my research and discovered (from numerous sources) that the kindle fire HD will work with the new Furby Boom I was thrilled! However, that has been short lived. Being a mother and not a computer geek and the fountain of all techno knowledge…I believed what I read (in numerous official places) i.e. that the kindle fire hd is an Android device and will work with the Furby Boom App…even the Furby box states ‘Get the app on Google Play’ which if I’m not mistaken is on Android…but not available on the Kindle Fire HD…and I was to know this how?? The advertising on both the kindle fire hd and the Furby Boom is woefully inadequate and thoroughly misleading…in fact I feel a call to trading standards coming on to be honest! It’s Christmas Day, I have wasted hours trying to work this out for a very disappointed and upset 7year old girl…so, thank you Amazon and Hasbro for wrecking her, and indeed our, Christmas Day! You should be thoroughly ashamed and judging by the amount of complaints preceding mine I am clearly not the only person feeling aggrieved by this! Pathetic, useless waste of time and money! I fully intend taking this matter further as if believe no ‘lay’ person could have ascertained that the new Furby Boom wouldn’t work with the Kindle Fire HD given the available information.

but this problem is only on Kindle Fire or have other tablets ???

Let’s go Amazon…get with the times. You market a product that is very popular for kids, yet you can’t coordinate with Hasbro to get an accessible app… Do you pride yourselves in disappointing young kids? Not a great marketing scheme, in my humble opinion.

Thanks Hasbro. Great toy until my child tried to download on Christmas morning. No he is crying and crushed. He waited a year to get his furby boom. Really, you can’t support the second most common device on the planet?

It’s not fair. Hasbro is going to loose a lot of costumers. If amazon.com makes kindle fire and sells furbies? Theres a problem.

Come on Hasbro how hard would it be to put out a furry app for kindle. More kids have kindle than any other tablet.

      I agree!

Well my daughter was really looking forward to download the app after purchasing her Furby, and she was a bit disappointed when she knew that she couldn’t download it to her Kindle Fire. What a shame. A Furby worth nothing. Yet, she still plays with it and has alot of fun, but she really wanted to experience all of the features with the Furby App ,and she couldn’t learn to speak furbish before her Furby started speaking Spanish. I sometimes even feel bad for her. Poor child. And I bet alot of you parents also see your children a bit disappointed because of this. If only Hasbro could make the app available for Amazon…
